Signing of a contract to construct a 132 kV power transmission line in Uganda

Sunir Company has successfully concluded a new contract in the field of power transmission in East Africa. According to the public relations report, the contract for the project “Design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of the 132 kV double-circuit Owen Falls-Lugogo transmission line including replacement of metal towers with telescopic towers” was concluded between Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETCL) as the employer and Sunir Company as the main contractor.

This achievement is the result of Sunir’s successful participation in an international tender held by the employer. After technical and financial evaluations, Sunir was selected as the winner of the tender with the highest score.

The project, which is scheduled to take 24 months to complete, involves the rehabilitation and construction of a 10km transmission line with telescopic towers as part of a 170km line to Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The implementation of telescopic towers for a 132kV transmission line is being implemented for the first time in Uganda.

It is worth noting that this project is the first experience of Sunir’s presence in Uganda. This is while the company has previously completed important projects in the countries of the region including Ethiopia and Tanzania. These successes have established Sunir’s position as one of the leading Iranian companies in the field of electricity and energy on the African continent.

It is hoped that with the successful and timely implementation of this project, Sunir Company will be able to further expand the scope of its activities in Africa and provide new opportunities for the development of international cooperation.
